Reminder: Post Your Lessons by Sept. 30

    Hello, everyone--
I am writing to remind you of an assignment for Pursuing Justice.

I hope your school year is off to a smashing start and that all of you have finally received full payment from Brookline for your hard work this summer.  For those of you who have had payment problems, I am sorry for the delay.  Internal bureaucracies are always a nightmare and this one is more so than most.  Enough said.

As to payment for the following, I want to avoid any further complications in this, the final year of the project.  So...Pursuing Justice will pay you $250 for the first draft of your lesson on September 30th (you can post it at any time before that date, by the way) and the final $250 when you have revised the lesson and posted a "Final Lesson Plan."  I am attaching a template that we have used to create lessons in Brookline.  If you have a different format in your own school system, you should use that format but if you do not, please use the format of the template I have attached.

    1--Assignment for September 30th
    • By now, you should have received feedback from one of the professors on your memo from last summer.
    • Please revise your project using their suggestions
    • Post the project to the Project Cohort 3 page by September 30th.  We would appreciate any early posts, by the way.  Please label the post of your lesson with "Draft Lesson for Pursuing Justice, [your name]."
    • Geoff Tegnell and I will review your lesson post, make suggestions, and send these back to you (individually) by October 20.
    • When you receive our suggestions, please revise your work and post the revision on the Project Cohort 3 forum page:
    2--Final Lesson Plan
    • Originally, we had said that the final payment would be in May, following a) a visit from the project director or evaluator; b) a narrative from you about the effect of Pursuing Justice on your teaching; and c) a final posting of your lesson.
    • We want to be sure that all payments are done in a timely manner before the grant funding ends, so we will move up the process of final payment.  You will still be obligated to fulfill parts a and b above, but Pursuing Justice will make the payment as soon as the Final Lesson Plan appears on the Project Cohort 3 page.
    • Please label this final post as "Final Lesson Plan for Pursuing Justice, [Your Name]

    Hi Rich,

What format do you want us to use to post the lesson plan?

Hi, Kate--I attached a template to my earlier post that gives you a good outline of how to set up the lesson  (look up at  the top next to my name and beautiful picture).
